Instruction for modifying the website templates for your website. Congratulations on purchasing Resale Rights to "Keys To Power Prosperity"! Setting up a income-generating website is extremely easy to do. In fact, I believe that the only reason for this file is to point out where the templates need editing. However, I will include additional information in case you need it. By now, you've probably already unpacked the zip file, so I don't have to cover that. As you explore the files that have been unpacked, you'll find that it's pretty much a complete website. The only things you have to do are to edit the URLs in the pages to point to your domain, link the order buttons to your payment processor, and then upload the pages. After that, all you need to do is set up some advertising and the money will start rolling in! EDITING THE HOME PAGE On the main index.htm page, there are only 2 things that you may want to modify. If you want to build your own mailing list, you'll want to modify the Power Prosperity News signup form at the bottom so that it points to your own autoresponder instead of mine. Because different autoresponders require different fields and values, I am unable to give you specific instructions on this. Please consult your autoresponder help files for details on how to use a form to collect subscribers. You will need to link the Contact Me link in the footer to your email address. This will enable you to get to know your customers and the personal touch really helps to increase sales. EDITING THE RESELLER'S PAGE On the reseller's page, you will want to edit the buttons so that they point to your payment processor. On my site, I use a program called 'amember' from www.cgi-central.net to protect my download pages from unauthorized access, but this is not required to use this website package. There are 2 buttons on the reseller's page that you'll want to edit. The first button is for those who choose not to purchase a Resale Rights license and want to purchase the book by itself. The second button is for those who choose to upgrade to the Resale Rights license. Again, since there are so many options for payment processors (ClickBank, PayPal, 2CheckOut, etc.), I cannot give you specific instructions on how to code the links. You'll need to check the documentation for your particular payment processor for details. And just as on the home page, you may want to edit the Contact Me link in the footer to point to your email address. OTHER OPTIONS There are a lot of different thing you can do to change the look of the website templates so that your site will be unique from anyone else who may be selling "Keys To Power Prosperity". You can purchase a website template and simply copy the text and images into your own template. This will give your site a completely new look. You could also add bonuses to your site so that whoever sees your site will have an incentive to buy from you instead of someone else. You could also rewrite the sales page if you feel that you could do it better. My suggestion here is to test any changes you make to verify that your sales will in fact increase. There are so many variables, and each variable should be tested before being adopted. SECURING YOUR DOWNLOAD PAGES My experience is that rarely will you have someone purposefully share the download link with others, and when it happens, there's not much you can do about it. On my site, I use a username/password system to secure the download pages to those who have purchased the book, and the access codes are good for only 7 days from the date of purchase. Even in this case, if someone shares their username and password, several people can still download a copy. And hey, if someone really wants to share the book, all they have to do is simply copy it and email it to their friends. Luckily, this almost never happens. But if you want to make it as difficult as possible for anyone to access your download area without payment, there are 2 good ways to go. First is to use a membership management script like I do. I use aMember from www.cgi-central.net to secure my download areas. I like the script and it has a ton of features. In fact, the full Pro version even has a built-in affiliate program so that you can have others promote your products for a commission, and you don't have to use ClickBank to do it. You are in complete control over the commission payouts, so you can enforce the rule that no-one can use their affiliate code to give themselves a discount. The other way to go is to use a download protector script. These scripts hide the real download link and present a temporary link for each purchaser to use. Usually, these temporary links are valid for about an hour or a day, and verify the receipt number before granting access to the product. I've only tried this once, and the script I used created far too many problems to be worthwhile. I am currently testing the script from www.clickbankautomator.com. I'll publish my findings in a future issue of Power Prosperity News. Another option you have is to place the download files into password protected directories on your webserver, and email the access codes to all new purchasers. If you do this, you can change the password as often as you want, and the same code is good for everyone who purchases during the time the password is valid. This takes a bit of work to constantly change the codes in the autoresponder email that goes out to the new buyer, but is the cheapest solution.
